Two of the most important characteristics of the wedi system solution is sealing and decoupling.

Sealing methods offered by wedi protect the substrate against damages caused by water and moisture as well as other mediums such as alkaline solutions or acids, thus prevent the occurrence of hygienic impairments.
wedi offers three types of sealing methods:
• building boards
• 520 cement based Waterproof Membrane & wedi 610 adhesive sealant
• Subliner Sealing & Decoupling membranes

Decoupling solutions are designed to neutralise any possible tensions between the finished surface and the sub-structure beneath and could serve as an acoustic decoupling and/or thermal decoupling. wedi has the solution for both:
- Nonstep impact sound deadening mats
- building boards & Subliner Sealing and decoupling membranes

All thicknesses of the wedi building boards can be used as a thermal decoupling layer between tiles and substrates and can serve as thermal decoupling beneath underfloor heating systems ensuring that the heat will be directly conducted upwards preventing any unnecessary heat loss. Subliner Flex – improved tension compensation

This crack-bridging decoupling web made from a string fabric sheathing offers optimum connection to tile laying materials thanks to its dual-sided special fleece lamination.
It provides decoupling and tension reduction between top layers of ceramic tiles, slabs, and natural stone and the substrate for interior applications only.
Suitable for all load-bearing surfaces and mixed surfaces such as concrete floors, cement, anhydrite and mastic asphalt screeds, wooden floors with good bonding, and cement, lime-cement or gypsum plasters and can also be used with both hot-water and electric floor heating systems.

It is available in a 1metre wide roll with a length of 30metres.
Joint sealing must be completed using wedi Sealing tape and wedi 520 cement based Waterproof Membrane. *to be purchased separately*
